The High Country Grizzlies posted a 47-31 home win against the Georgia Firebirds in a National Arena League football game Sunday at the Holmes Center in Boone.

The Grizzlies (3-3) ended a two-game losing streak and got two touchdown passes from Stephen Panasuk, including one to former App State receiver Malachi Jones.

Panasuk and fullback Undra Hendrix contributed to four short touchdown runs, and defensive lineman Larry Ford opened the scoring for the Grizzlies by tipping a pass high into the air before coming down with it for an end-zone interception. High Country had four takeaways in the game, with Ford, Brandon Sutton and Chase Blackburn supplying considerable pressure up front.

The Grizzlies are home in the Den again on Saturday, May 20 against the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks. Kickoff at 7 p.m. We hope to see everyone there sporting their Grizzlies gear and ready to cheer for another home win. Purchase your tickets here
