BOONE, NC- William Thompson, General Manager of the American Arena League’s High Country Grizzlies, today announced that the team signed Offensive Lineman William Dancy for the 2018 season.

“Dancy is an experienced offensive lineman who can play guard or center,” Head Coach Scott Meserve said.  “He’ll be able to solidify the middle of our offense.” Listed at 6’4”, 310, the Graham, NC native played as a true freshman for Eastern Arizona College of the Western States Football League (WSFL) in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and was an all-conference player.

In 2013, he appeared in 10 games on offensive line and special teams for the North Carolina Tar Heels of the Atlantic Cast Conference (ACC) in NCAA Division I FBS college football.  In 2014, he saw action in all 13 games making two starts.  In 2016, Dancy missed the entire season due to an Achilles injury.  He transferred to East Carolina University of the American Athletic Conference (AAC) in NCAA Division I FBS College football in 2016 as a graduate student and participated in 12 games.
